What is Cerec?

  • Cerec is the short term for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, or CEramic REConstruction.

  • Cerec uses CAD (computer aided design) technology to take impression quickly and precisely generate a fitted filling in a single day!

What should you expect?


Step One: Imaging

The dentist will prepare your tooth, remove the defective and diseased part, to make sure the final restoration has a better fitting and longer durability.

An intraoral camera will be used to take a digital impression of your tooth.

Step Two: Designing

The impression is then used to design the tooth restoration.

Step Three: Fabrication

The design is then sent to the manufacturer for production, and after adding some finishing touches to the restoration, the dentist will fix it onto the tooth. Minimal bite adjustment is needed.

Step Four: Placement

Your CEREC restoration is perfectly sized, shaped and shaded to complement your individual smile for optimal form and function.
